GENERAL

  • Can we install the AWS System ourself?
  • Can AWS or another contractor install the weather station?
  • What components must the user supply for installation?

    OUTDOOR COMPONENTS

  • What can you tell me about the instrument mast?
  • Does the Sensor Mast have to be grounded?
  • Where should we locate the sensors on the outside of our building?
  • Do the outdoor sensors need to point a certain direction?
  • Is the sensor (instrument) mast susceptible to lightning? What can I do about it?

    INDOOR COMPONENTS

  • Which cable is the modem cable, and which cable is the computer cable?
  • How do we set the time and data on the weather station?
  • What is the Auxiliary Temperature sensor, and how should I install it?
  • How far can I run my digital display?
  • Which power pack goes with which device?
  • Which lights should be lit on the front of the Data Logger or Master Control Unit?
  • How do we extend the distance from the logger to the sensors?

    INTERNET / MODEM COMMUNCIATIONS

  • Do we need our computer / phone line during the installation process?
  • Is the computer or modem required for AWS or the TV station to be able to access our weather data?
  • Do we need to have a dedicated phone line for the system, or can a line be shared? (Modem Sites)
  • Do we need to have our phone line ready during installation? (Modem Sites)
