[QUESTION]

Which lights should be lit on the front of the Data Logger or Master Control Unit?

[ANSWER] IMPORTANT NOTE: Before powering up any components review all connections to ensure that they secure.

Under normal operating conditions, the green Power light on the front of the data logger or MCU should be lit. The Battery Low light will activate only if there is a loss of primary power to the system that causes the Data Logger to draw emergency power from its internal battery. This battery will supply up to 4 hours of operating time before it is exhausted. The data logger will automatically shut down when the battery power becomes insufficient to operate it. Incorporated into the Data Logger is a battery charging system to retain the battery at full charge so long as the Data Logger is receiving power.

If the Battery Low indicator remains lit, check for the following conditions:

  1. Power Adapter may be defective or has come unplugged at the AC power/surge protector strip or the back of the Data Logger/MCU. Ensure it, and all of the other power adapters are securely seated.
  2. The internal battery of the unit, or its related circuitry, has failed. For this condition, call AWS Technical Support for assistance.

For Master Control Units:

Upon power up of all components, the GREEN "Power" light on the front of your AirWatch MCU should illuminate. If your look very closely the YELLOW "Fault" light may illuminate slightly. It should not illuminate brightly. If the YELLOW "Fault" light is illuminated brightly check your power connections to make sure that power is being supplied to the MCU, and that the RESET circuit breaker on the rear of the MCU has not tripped (it should be pressed in).
