[QUESTION]

Which power pack goes with which device?

[ANSWER] The AWS System Components are powered by small wall plug in adapters and come from the factory with tags indicating which system component it operates. The power supply specifications are outlined below.

Data Logger and Data Logger II: Powered by a 120Volt AC to 15Volt DC adapter with a maximum 600mA current draw.

Master Control Unit: : Powered by a 120 Volt AC to 12Volt DC adapter rated for a maximum 1.2 Amp current draw.

Digital Display: Powered by a 120 Volt AC to 12Volt DC adapter rated for a maximum 1.2 Amp current draw.

Modem: Powered by an adapter operating at 120Volt AC to 9.5 Volt AC with a maximum 600mA current draw.

All these power supplies, or adapters, are available directly from AWS. It is highly recommended that all power adapters should be acquired only from AWS directly. AWS cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by non approved replacement components. Incorrect voltage or polarity may result in major damage to your display or master control unit.

For the maximum surge protection and battery life of the system components it is important to layout the components attached to the UPS as follows:

1. The UPS is plugged into the normal wall electrical outlet.

2. Surge Suppressor/Power Outlet strip is plugged into the lower power plug on back of the UPS.

3. All power packs (Logger, Modem, Display) should then plug into the outlet strip.

4. Telephone line for the Modem should route from the wall into the telephone surge protector built into the outlet strip, and out to the Modem "line in" jack.
