Is there any on-going maintenance that I will need to perform on my weather station? |

Under normal conditions, very little maintenance is required on the AWS WeatherNet System. The following items should be checked four times a year or more frequently if a noticeable change in performance is noted.
Ensure that the rain gauge is free from debris (leaves or bird droppings can clog the entrance to the rain gauge) and dust build-up. If problems persist, take the cover off the gauge by removing the four screws around the perimeter. Then check the black plastic-tipping bucket to make sure that it is free of debris and moves freely.
Ensure that the top of the aspirated sensor shield is clean and free from debris. The white surface is important for accurate measurements. Also check the interior of the shield to make sure that no debris has accumulated. A dirty surface or nearby debris will cause inaccurate readings.
Ensure that the top of the light sensor is clean and free from debris. A dirty surface or nearby debris will cause inaccurate readings. This applies only to systems built before 1997.
