[QUESTION]

How do I setup my Microsoft ISA Server to work with the Weather Streamer software?

[ANSWER] Setting up your Microsoft ISA Server is relatively easy. Just follow these short simple steps.

1. Under your Administrative Tools, click on "ISA Management"

Administrative Tools

2. In your ISA Management tree, there is a section called "Policy Elements". Under this section, click on "Protocol Definitions"

ISA Management Tree

2. You now want to create a new Protocol Definition called AWSOUT. The parameters for the primary connection for this definition are as follows:

Port number is 9500
Protocol type is UDP
Direction is Send.

There is no Secondary connection to set up.

AWSOUT Protocol Definition

That's all there is to it. Once the above steps have been completed, please call AWS Technical Support to have your station checked. If the Weather Streamer software is running, it should immediately begin sending your live weather data to AWS.

NOTE: Using the IP Filtering features of Microsoft ISA Server will not work properly with the AWS Weather Streamer software. You must setup a Protocol Definition like the one outlined above.
