WeatherBug Streamer is used by over 100 government agencies at the state and local level across the U.S. First responders and emergency managers look to WeatherBug’s information to precisely assess the impact of current weather conditions during hazardous situations and natural disasters. They are then able to determine which municipalities to evacuate, select approach routes for first-responders and choose the type of equipment to dispatch to a disaster site. In the event of an airborne threat, such as a chemical spill, the program provides more accurate and up-to-date data for plume models.

WeatherBug also has a strong private/public partnership with the National Weather Service, aiding Homeland Security. WeatherBug’s data is made available to experts across the NOAA/NWS to improve weather forecasting, emergency response operations and to issue timely severe weather warnings. The data from the dense network of 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations is accessed live via the desktop and mobile devise, putting the time sensitive data in the hands of the decisions makers when it matters most.
