WeatherBug® Announces ABC Affiliate WXYZ-TV as the Exclusive Provider of Live Local Neighborhood Weather in Detroit

WXYZ-TV joins sister stations KJRH in Tulsa, OK, WMAR in Baltimore, MD and WFTS in Tampa, FL in WeatherBug’s Network of Local Broadcast Partners

GAITHERSBURG, MD - February 17, 2005 - WeatherBug, the leading provider of up-to-the-second live local weather information services, today announced the addition of WXYZ-TV (Channel 7, ABC affiliate) in Detroit, Michigan to its WeatherBug broadcast partner network. WXYZ-TV will incorporate real-time weather data from 26 WeatherBug Tracking Stations placed on schools within their DMA to offer unique weather reports from their viewers’ neighborhoods. A few of the schools in Detroit with WeatherBug Tracking Stations include: Siersma Elementary School, Harry S. Truman High School and The Detroit Science Center.

WXYZ-TV will be utilizing the all-digital WeatherBug Zoom On-Air Display System to deliver exclusive live hyper-local weather conditions and images. Additionally, WXYZ-TV will be the local broadcast partner on the WeatherBug desktop application, which is used by approximately 147,443 at-work/at-home consumers within their DMA.
