WeatherBug & Trails.com Team to Provide Outdoor Content for America’s Hikers, Bikers, Campers, Fishermen and Day Trippers
WeatherBug offers Trails.com Information on 35,162 Trails in the US via its “Health & Outdoors” Section

Gaithersburg, MD and Seattle, WA - April 27, 2005 - WeatherBug, the leading provider of weather information services, and Trails.com, the Web’s most complete planning resource for self-guided outdoor and adventure travel activities, today unveiled a new partnership to provide millions of online users a path to the outdoors.

“Millions of WeatherBug customers are now a click away from our trails database,” said Doug Colbeck, CEO and co-founder of Trails.com. “Combining the right outdoor activity with the weather and traffic information in one place gets people outside and moving faster than ever! Never has there been an easier way to plan a hike or fishing trip— the data is now at the user’s fingertips, and the variety of great things to do outdoors is almost endless.”

Detailed information on 35,162 trails in the US is now available via the popular WeatherBug desktop application in the “Health & Outdoors” section. The trails data is searchable by geography and activity and includes detailed information on whatever the plans are for the day such as: hiking, walking, camping, climbing, sea kayaking, family trips, beaches, ski resorts, biking and fishing, just to name a few.

“Our users go to WeatherBug for daily and weekly planning— including outdoor activities with friends and family,” said John Saaty, Chief Marketing Officer of WeatherBug. “Combining our 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations with over 35,000 hiking, biking, camping and driving information in the Trails.com database means our users can get outside more often, participating in better activities and finding the optimal weather experience at the same time.”

WeatherBug operates a proprietary network of 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations and more than 1,000 cameras that are strategically placed at schools and public safety facilities throughout the nation. These professional grade tracking stations generate live neighborhood level reports every second (other weather data is up to an hour or more old).

WeatherBug, available at www.WeatherBug.com, had 20 million unique visitors in March 2005 and is ranked a top 10 Internet property in daily reach, according to comScore Media Metrix*, making it the leader in online weather.
