Students in grades six through eight will learn science, math, geography and technology through WeatherBug Achieve’s award-winning interactive lessons, which align with state education standards. The WeatherBug Network encompasses over 8,000 WeatherBug Tracking Stations and more than 1,000 cameras across the U.S., primarily based at schools and public safety facilities. The data from these stations is used by the National Weather Service, local broadcaster WIVB-TV (Channel 4) in Buffalo NY, local government agencies, consumers, teachers and their students. “The students and teachers are excited to work with WeatherBug Achieve, especially now as hurricane season picks up,” said Sandy Gauthier 7th and 8th grade teacher and lead on the WeatherBug Achieve project. “As the students walk in the classroom in the morning, the first thing they do is automatically check the weather on a PC monitor to monitor WeatherBug conditions.
