NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND AWS CONVERGENCE
TECHNOLOGIES RENEW PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

San Antonio, TX, AMS Annual Meeting, Jan. 16– AWS Convergence Technologies, Inc. (AWS) announced today it has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS). The new agreement solidifies AWS' public/private partnership with NOAA, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, and enables continued integration of live, local weather data provided by AWS' nationwide WeatherBug® Network into NWS' existing data collection resources.

"By employing AWS data, NOAA's National Weather Service has improved its products and services," said retired Air Force Brig. Gen. David L. Johnson, director of NOAA's National Weather Service. "AWS has consistently looked for ways to work with the government for the good of the American people. Their civic-minded approach to safeguarding lives and property has been an inspiration for others in the field."

Originally signed in 2004, this new agreement extends the relationship and enables additional exploration of cooperative ventures between the two organizations.
