WeatherBug Promotes Mike Lombardi to Vice President of Advertising Sales and Marketing

Germantown,MD and New York, NY — WeatherBug®, the leading provider of live, local weather information, announced today that Mike Lombardi has been promoted to lead WeatherBug’s advertising sales organization as vice president of advertising sales and marketing. Based in WeatherBug’s New York City office, Lombardi will manage the day-to-day operations of the advertising sales and marketing efforts.

"Mike has been instrumental in developing a strong sales team and driving our overall success with major brand name advertisers such as Kraft, Ace Hardware and Bausch & Lomb," said John Doherty, senior vice president of sales and marketing for WeatherBug’s consumer and professional divisions. "Under his leadership, WeatherBug will continue to stay top of mind among industry leaders while also building upon the strong relationships we have with our advertising clients."

Lombardi, who joined the company in 2005 as vice president of east coast sales, became vice president of national sales in January 2007. Prior to this role, Lombardi managed east coast sales for Undertone Networks and Bloomberg Media. During his six year tenure at Bloomberg Media, Lombardi ran sales for Bloomberg.com and was credited with fostering strong client and agency relationships that resulted in year-over-year revenue growth. Lombardi also held previous sales and management positions at Bonneville International for radio stations WMVX and WDBZ in New York City and Darcey & Darcey Advertising and Public Relations.

In this new role, Lombardi recently hired Samantha Jacobs, as director of east coast sales, and Erin Wilson, director of mobile advertising. Previously, Jacobs held the role of director of online advertising sales at Adweek. Wilson joined WeatherBug from Reprise Media where she served as account executive.

"Samantha and Erin will provide the type of leadership and expertise that will bring our business to the next level," said Lombardi. Both are based out of the New York City office.
