Through our partnership with the National Weather Service, we have significantly improved the government's ability to respond to emergencies. If a homeland security incident or disaster takes place, the NWS will utilize instantaneous weather data from the AWS WeatherNet network to provide very precise forecast models that government agencies, the military and emergency managers can use to make critical decisions. Your sponsored stations will directly contribute to this initiative through the data they provide to assist in emergency situations. |
