AWS True Insta Weather On-Air Graphics

The most exciting new development in the AWS product line is True Insta-Weather, a 32 bit graphics tool for the TV Weathercaster. True Insta-Weather allows a meteorologist to "air" the weather conditions from PC-MET weather stations live, "on the air" in real 32 bit color.

With AWS' latest Internet technology, True Insta-Weather Online allows for MULTIPLE SITE REAL-TIME DISPLAYS via the Net!

True Insta-Weather is as flexible as broadcast demands. Any TARGA image can be used as a background for the weather data, which is plotted using all anti-aliased fonts. This means that the Insta-Weather screen that is used in the weather report can be designed from the ground up to match the "look" of the television station.

Because True Insta-Weather is an add on to PC-MET software, it runs on a standard IBM Compatible PC. 32 bit images are output through a Truevision ATVista card in RGB format to simplify encoding. PC-MET and the ATVista card, as well as a 2400 baud (or faster) modem are necessary.

In order to create or edit Insta-Weather displays, you will need to have access to an NTSC or RGB monitor. All True Insta-Weather graphics are displayed on this monitor and NOT on your VGA display.

RGB to NTSC Composite Video Encoder

The output of the ATVista card is in a RGB format. This signal must be encoded to NTSC composite for use within the television station.
